Spanish Style White Rice
Easy and simple spanish style white rice that everyone can make.
- 1 cup extra long rice The ratio of rice to water is 1:1 plus an extra 1/2 of a cup of water. It is not 1:1.5. Your rice will come out soggy if you put too much.
- 1 ½ cup water
- sprinkle of salt
- swig of veggie oil
In a caldero, add water, oil, and salt. Bring to a boil on medium heat. While waiting for water to boil, wash your rice.
When water is boiling. Add rice in and stir. Let the rice soak up most of the water till little volcanos start to emerge from rice and most of the water has evaporated.
Lower heat to the lowest setting and cover. Let cook for 25 minutes.
Remove from heat and fluff with a fork. Keep covered till ready to serve.
