San Francisco Vietnamese Garlic Noodles
A delicious, quick, and cheap recipe for San Francisco Vietnamese Style Garlic Noodles inspired by a trip to the Bay Area
- 8 cloves of garlic minced
- 5 tbsp butter
- evoo
- fresh or dried egg noodles
- ½ tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
- parmesan or pecorino cheese
- garnish either parsley or scallion green tips
In a large pot, set water to boil.
In a separate bowl, make the sauce by combining oyster sauce, sugar, soy, and fish sauce.
To a large wok add oil and butter. Add the garlic and sautee. The water should be boiling by now, add noodles and cook according to package directions.
Then add the sauce mixture to the the wok and let thicken.
Remove and strain the noodles and add to the sauce with a little bit of the reserved noodle liquid. Toss in the wok to ensure everything is combined.
Remove from the heat and add a sprinkle of cheese and add garnishing of scallions to the top.
