Quick Shrimp Stir Fry

Who doesn't love a quick and easy stir-fry aka the answer to your late night work day dinners. Here is a simple, easy, shortcut to making a delicious shrimp stir-fry!

Equipment

  • Wok

Ingredients
  

  • vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 zucchini roughly cut
  • ½ red, green, and orange pepper optional: sugar snap peas
  • 1-2 cups cleaned, deveined, tail off shrimp
  • 1/4 cup water *just a splash to help steam
  • kikkoman stir fry sauce
  • cooked white rice
  • salt, white pepper (or black), garlic powder
  • vietnam chili garlic sauce optional

Instructions
 

  • Wash and set your rice up to cook in a rice cooker
  • In a wok, add oil and let heat up, then add smashed garlic cloves.
  • After garlic has sauteed for a bit, add your choice of vegetables.
  • Add seasonings and sauté vegetables till fragrant. Add a splash of water to help steam the vegetables. Once vegetables have softened, remove and set aside.
  • In the same wok, add extra oil if needed, then add shrimp. Season the shrimp to your liking and cook till all sides are pink (roughly 6 minutes or so)
  • Place vegetables back into the wok and add as much or as little stir fry sauce as you like. Stir everything together and let it cook for another 5 minutes or so to get that sauce thicker and coating everything.
  • Serve with white rice and enjoy!

Who Doesn’t Love a Quickie?

Get your mind out of the gutter, you filthy animals! A quick dinner that is! I work in Brooklyn but live in Jersey so my commute is ridiculous so when I get home, you think I want to bust my tailfeather to cook – no the F I do not! So, this quick shrimp stir fry is one of those meals that is everything and anything that you got thrown into a wok. You can change the veggies, change the protein, make it vegetarian, do whatever you please! This recipe for the quick shrimp stir fry is not one that is super correctly measured as is most of my recipes. You season with your heart, you use what you please, the kitchen is your own personal laboratory to experiment as you see fit. In other words – DO YOU!
